Azerbaijani President receives French Minister for Transport and Presidential Advisor for Diplomatic Affairs

Baku, February 18 (AZERTAC). President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today received French Minister for Transport Thierry Mariani and Diplomatic Advisor to the French President Damien Loras.

Thierry Mariani handed over President Nicolas Sarkozy `s letter to the Head of State.

The French Minister expressed confidence partnership relations between the two countries would continue to develop.

President Ilham Aliyev thanked for President Nicolas Sarkozy`s sincere opinions about development of bilateral relations.

The Head of State expressed assurance bilateral ties between Azerbaijan and France would continue to expand.

The Azerbaijani leader expressed hope a bill criminalizing the denial of the so-called Armenian genocide wouldn`t come into force.

During the meeting, they also discussed Azerbaijan-France relationship, regional and international issues.
