Baku, February 19, AZERTAC

Azerbaijan’s Prime Minister Ali Asadov has met with Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Mustafa Sentop.

Speaker of the Turkish Parliament Mustafa Sentop said that Azerbaijan's glorious victory in the 44-day Patriotic War was welcomed with great sense of pride and enthusiasm in Turkey, adding that Turkey supports the new regional cooperation initiative put forward by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev after the Patriotic War.

Prime Minister Ali Asadov noted with appreciation that Turkey had stood by Azerbaijan since the first moments of the 44-day Patriotic War. The Prime Minister said that restoration work has begun on the liberated lands, adding that the region will turn into one of the most beautiful corners of the world, and Turkish companies are at the forefront of this process.

Ali Asadov also praised the successful activity of the Turkish-Russian Joint Monitoring Center. The PM emphasized that the heads of state had set a strategic goal of reaching a $15 billion trade volume between the two countries by 2023. “The governments of Azerbaijan and Turkey, as well as the private sector, should tap the existing potential to make this goal a reality,” Ali Asadov added.
