Azerbaijani Prime Minister meets Chief of General Staff of Turkish Armed Forces

Baku, October 6, AZERTAC

Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Artur Rasizade has met Chief of the General Staff of the Turkish Armed Forces, Army General Hulusi Akar.

Mr Rasizade hailed Azerbaijani-Turkish relations. “Our countries enjoy close ties in all areas, particularly in political, economic, cultural and military ones.”

He expressed confidence that the Turkish delegation`s visit would contribute to the deepening of cooperation. The Premier hailed Turkish specialists` assisting Azerbaijan with army building.

On the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the sides stressed the importance of solving it in compliance with the norms of international law and based on the principles of the territorial integrity and inviolability of borders of Azerbaijan.

Mr Akar hailed mutual support between Azerbaijan and Turkey on the international scene. He underlined the significance of joint military trainings held over the last years, saying “this has already yielded fruits which contribute to the improvement of the army`s professionalism”.
