Azerbaijani Ambassador to Ukraine Azer Khudiyev highlighted Armenia's policy of aggression against Azerbaijan and the causes and consequences of the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict as he was interviewed by the Ukrainian public radio.
The ambassador said that when the USSR had been on the verge of collapse the Armenians had laid territorial claims against Azerbaijan based on their concept of a "Great Armenia". Khudiyev noted that the Armenian claims were accompanied by a policy of aggression which led to the occupation of 20 per cent of Azerbaijan`s territory.
Recalling that Armenia has historically pursued a policy of aggression against Azerbaijan in different periods of history, the ambassador emphasized that terrorism and occupation transformed into Armenia`s state policy.
Khudiyev said the Armenian leaders do not take any constructive steps towards the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and took a non-constructive position on the negotiating table. “The UN General Assembly adopted four resolutions demanding the withdrawal of the Armenian armed forces from the occupied Azerbaijani territories, which have not yet been implemented," the ambassador mentioned.
