Azerbaijani ambassador to U.S. to speak in Houston
Houston, February 16 (AZERTAC). Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the United States Elin Suleymanov on March 7 will deliver a lecture on theme "Azerbaijan and issues of regional energy security" at the World Affairs Council of Houston.
The lecture will focus on strategically important location of Azerbaijan and the importance of the country for Europe, Asia and the Middle East. In particular, the presentation will cover the role of Azerbaijan in the energy security of the Caspian region. The event is organized by the World Affairs Council of Houston, with the assistance of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the United States and the American Jewish Committee (AJC).
The World Affairs Councils of America represents and supports the largest national non-partisan network of local councils that are dedicated to educating, inspiring and engaging Americans in international affairs and the critical global issues of our times. The network consists of almost 100 councils in over 40 states. Each non-profit, non-partisan council is autonomous with respect to their governance, financing and programming but share certain common values.
Today, the Council is widely respected as a place where citizens, world leaders, policy makers, and the scholars come to meet, where ideas are exchanged and actions inspired. Over 7,000 members are currently enrolled, making the Council one of the largest and most successful public forums in the US. Speakers often comment on the energy and vibrance that they find at Council programs.
