Azerbaijani chess players win 5 medals at European Schools Chess Championship

Azerbaijani chess players have claimed a clutch of 5 medals, including one gold at the European Schools Chess Championship in Konya, Turkey.

Suleyman Suleyman took gold medal with 7.5 points.

Kenan Garayev grabbed silver with 7 points, while Khazar Babazade, Aytaj Heydarova and Narmin Karimzade got bronze medals.

Azerbaijan ranked third in the overall medal table, behind Turkey and Russia.

Along with Azerbaijan, the Championship brought together 670 chess players from Russia, Turkey, the United Kingdom, Finland, Bulgaria, Romania and Moldova.
