Azerbaijani taekwondo fighters to compete at World Grand Prix in Moscow

Azerbaijani taekwondo fighters will contest medals at the 2017 World Grand Prix to be held in Moscow, Russia on August 4-6.

Azerbaijan’s squad includes Gashim Magomedov (58kg), Mahammad Mammadov (68kg), Aykhan Taghizade (68kg), Ramin Azizov (80kg) and Farida Azizova (67kg).

220 athletes from 53 countries including 14 gold medallists from the 2016 Rio Olympics and the 2017 World Championships, to compete for Olympic ranking points, cash prizes and sporting glory. The gold medallist in each category wins USD 5,000; the silver medallist takes home USD 3,000; and the two bronzes medallists are enriched with USD 1,000 each. Award ceremonies are held on both days, after all weight categories have been contested.
