Azerbaijan’s Prime Minister meets with Bulgarian Deputy PM

Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Novruz Mammadov has met with a delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria Ekaterina Zaharieva.

Highlighting the Azerbaijan-Bulgaria bilateral ties, Prime Minister Novruz Mammadov hailed very good relations between the two countries and their peoples. He noted that the Azerbaijan-Bulgaria relations are those of a strategic partnership and hailed the fruitful cooperation between the two countries both in bilateral format and within the international organizations. Prime Minister Novruz Mammadov expressed his hope that the Bulgarian delegation’s visit to Azerbaijan will contribute to further strengthening of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Bulgaria.

The Prime Minister hailed the high level of political ties between Azerbaijan and Bulgaria. He said that there is good potential for further developing economic relations and hailed the importance of boosting mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries.

Prime Minister Novruz Mammadov noted that Bulgaria’s joining the South Gas Corridor project via Greece-Bulgaria Interconnector will contribute to further development of bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

The Prime Minister commended Bulgaria for supporting Azerbaijan’s fair stance on the settlement of the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

Describing Azerbaijan and Bulgaria as friendly countries, Ekaterina Zaharieva hailed the importance of the Joint Declaration on Strategic Partnership signed during President Ilham Aliyev’s visit to Bulgaria in 2015 in terms of the development of bilateral relations.

Azerbaijan’s significant role in ensuring the energy security of Europe was hailed at the meeting.

The sides exchanged views on the expansion of cooperation in the fields of tourism, trade and transport, and a number other issues of mutual interest.
