Azerbaijan’s national leader Heydar Aliyev commemorated in Moscow

Azerbaijan’s Embassy in Moscow has organized an event to commemorate the 19th anniversary of the death of national leader Heydar Aliyev.
Special representative of the President of the Russian Federation for international cultural cooperation Mikhail Shvydkoy, Head of the Russian State Duma Committee on Foreign Affairs, chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party Leonid Slutsky, First Deputy Director General of Russian TASS news agency Mikhail Gusman, officials of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, diplomatic representatives in Moscow, employees of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation’s representative office in Russia, activists of the Azerbaijani Youth Association of Russia and members of diaspora organizations and attended the event.
The participants viewed a photo exhibition and books highlighting the life of the national leader organized in the lobby of the embassy.
Addressing the event, Azerbaijani Ambassador to the Russian Federation Polad Bulbuloglu highlighted the exceptional role of genius personality Heydar Aliyev and his unforgettable contributions to preserving the statehood and strengthening independence of Azerbaijan.
The ambassador emphasized that under the leadership of Commander-in-Chief, President Ilham Aliyev Azerbaijan gained victory in the 44-day Patriotic War and its ancient lands, as well as Shusha - the pearl of Karabakh were liberated from the occupation. “President Ilham Aliyev fulfilled the dream of Heydar Aliyev and all the world Azerbaijanis by liberating the lands of Azerbaijan from occupation, and thereby inscribed his name in the history of the country in golden letters,” he added.
The event also featured a presentation of the book "Zarifa and Heydar Aliyevs. Eternal love" by Azerbaijani People's Writer Elmira Akhundova.
The participants also watched a documentary dedicated to national leader Heydar Aliyev.
