BP BOLSTERS LOCAL COMPANIES

BP, major operator of the Caspian oil and gas projects, and its partners seek to double the worth of the contracts realized through the local companies within five years.

Until 2005, extra $250 million will be spent yearly through the small and small-medium enterprises as well as local joint companies. Thus, the expenditures with involvement of local companies will rise to $500 million.

The number of companies involved in the contract will increase as well. The main objective is to create the diversified economy and develop the local business.
