BTC SELECTS PARTNER FOR HUMAN RIGHTS TRAINING
BTC Co has entered into a partnership with Equity International (EI) to help deliver human rights training to public security agencies in Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey. Founded in 1998, EI works to promote ethical and lawful policing by providing human rights-based training and support to police and security forces. The organization has previously worked in partnership with recognized international organizations, such as the United Nations and the International Committee of the Red Cross. Implementation of the training programme will be based on the Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights, a set of guidelines that BTC Co has adopted for maintaining the safety and security of its operations within a framework that ensures respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms. BTC Co will continue its close co-operation with the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe and other intergovernmental organizations as it works towards this goal.
