BUNDESTAG REPRESENTATIVE MEETS WITH AZERBAIJANI AMBASSADOR IN GERMANY
Mr. Yorg Tauss is the rapporteur on science, research and education issues of the Social Democrat Party’s faction in the German Parliament and deputy chair of the Caucasus parliament group.
Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Germany Huseynaga Sadigov highlighted Mr. Tauss on the history of statehood, people, and current life of the Republic and spoke of the ongoing reforms, on the cardinal alterations in the political, economic and humanitarian fields.
The Ambassador spoke in detail on the crucial problem for Azerbaijan – the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno Karabakh conflict, its reasons and efforts of the Azerbaijani leadership for peaceful settlement of the problem. As the result of the Armenian aggression, Nagorno Karabakh and 6 another adjacent regions of Azerbaijan Republic have been occupied, over one million of Azerbaijani driven from their homelands and are living in hard conditions, the Ambassador said. He recommended the Bundestag representative to visit one of the refugee camps to familiarize with their plights, revere memories of the victims at the Alley of Martyrs.
Expressing his gratitude for provided detailed information, Mr. Tauss said he would certainly visit the refugee camps and Alley of Martyrs, set contacts with the Baku offices of the German Technical Cooperation Society, German Academic Exchange Service and the German Embassy in Baku, try to have full information on the Karabakh conflict.
Mr. Tauss interested in the current run-up presidential elections, prospects of settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno Karabakh conflict.
