The 2nd Festival of Literature and Books of the Turkic World has today opened in the park of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences.

The festival is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of National leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev.

The opening ceremony of the festival was attended by Chairman of the Union of Azerbaijani Writers, People`s Writer Anar Rzayev, Vice-President of the National Academy of Sciences Dilgam Taghiyev, Chairperson of the Milli Majlis Cultural Committee Ganira Pashayeva, MPs Sabir Rustamkhanli, Javanshir Feyziyev as well as scientists, poets, writers, intellectuals from the Turkic world.

The festival, which will run for a week, will feature various literary events such as book promotions, autograph sessions, poetry and song performances, as well as folklore performances and film screenings.
