Baku hosts trilateral meeting of Azerbaijan`s Defense Minister and chiefs of general staffs of Turkey and Georgia

A trilateral meeting of Defense Minister of Azerbaijan, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Turkey, Army General Yasar Guler and Chief of the General Staff of the Georgian Armed Forces, Major General Vladimer Chachibaia has been held in Baku.
The sides discussed the development of trilateral cooperation, ensuring regional stability, as well as security of the ongoing regional projects and a number of other issues.
Addressing the event, Minister of Defense Zakir Hasanov said that the trilateral meeting of the chiefs of the Azerbaijani, Turkish and Georgian armies is a vivid evidence of the three countries` strategic cooperation. “ It is the third meeting. The meeting aims to restore stability and peace in the region, ensure security of the strategic and economic projects being implemented in three friendly and neighborly countries and widen cooperation among the armed forces,” Hasanov noted.
The Chief of the General Staff of the Georgian Armed Forces, Major General Vladimer Chachibaia underlined that these relations are based on a common history. “We achieved a level of strategic partnership in the region. Our military cooperation is very important within the strategic partnership. We successfully continue our cooperation to ensure security of the ongoing regional projects,” Chachibaia underlined.
Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Turkey, Army General Yasar Guler hailed the importance of the meeting. “It is our third meeting. We will hold the bilateral and trilateral meetings to discuss the situation in the region. Our military relations are expanding. We will do our utmost to further develop our military relations. I believe that the meeting will yield important results,” Yasar Guler added.
