Baku to host Ministerial Conference of Non- Aligned Movement

The Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Mid-Term Intermediate Ministerial Conference will be held in Baku on April 5-6 under the theme of “Promoting International Peace and Security for Sustainable Development”, press service of the Azerbaijan Foreign Ministry said.
According to the ministry, as a part of preparation for the Ministerial Conference Senior Officials meeting will be held on April 3-4.
NAM participating states, representatives of the observer states and international organizations, as well as countries and institutions invited as special guests will take part in the Mid-Term Ministerial Conference.
The Non-Aligned Movement, which plays an important role in maintenance of the international peace and security, includes 120 states. 17 strates and 10 international organizations have an observer status.
In 2001, Azerbaijan joined the movement at the 16th Ministerial Conference held in Bali.
In 2019, Azerbaijan will host the 18th Summit of the NAM and will chair the movement in 2019-2022.
