Bishkek hosts 3rd meeting of TURKPA Commission on Social, Cultural and Humanitarian Affairs

Baku, April 16 (AZERTAC). The third meeting of the TURKPA Commission on Social, Cultural and Humanitarian Affairs has been held in Bishkek.

The event was attended by TURKPA Secretary General Jandos Asanov, members of Kyrgyz Parliament, deputy chairs of the Commission Urmat Amanbaeva and Tusunbay Bakir uulu, Deputy Secretary General of TURKSOY Firat Purtas, Vice President of the Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) Mustafa Baskurt and representative of the Turkic Academy in Astana Shakir Ibraev.

Azerbaijan`s delegation at the event included ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Hidayat Orujov, member of the Commission, Azerbaijani MP Nizami Jafarov and MP Sadagat Valiyeva.

Speaking to the event, Mr. Jafarov proposed founding the Turkic languages and writing day with the aim of strengthening unity among Turkic-speaking states.

The 4th meeting of the Commission will be held in Baku in the second half of 2014.
