Bulgaria expels 10 Russian diplomats

The Bulgarian Foreign Ministry declared 10 Russian diplomats persona non grata, the Russian ambassador to the country said on Friday, according to Anadolu Agency.

The ministry cited "activities incompatible with their status" as the reason for the decision, Eleonora Mitrofanova said in an interview with Russia's state-run TASS news agency.

"We perceive this as an extremely unfriendly act and reserve the right to retaliate," she said.

According to the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry, Russian diplomats must leave the country within 72 hours.
