Next year, the Bundestag will cost 973.7 million euros to taxpayers, about 100 million euros more than last year, according to Navva.org. This is a report from the Federal Court, reported by the "Bild" (monthly number).
According to her, the expenditure of 137 million per year is for the rent and maintenance of the buildings and about 112 million for the groups. However, the deputies would become increasingly expensive: next year, their diets will cost around € 460 million, according to the report. Main cause: the Bundestag has 709 seats, almost 100 more than ten years ago. If an election in the Bundestag were to take place today and if there were results according to the latest polls, the Bundestag would even count 870 members according to a calculation by the opinion institute INSA.
That is why the opposition is now again reforming the electoral law: "The right to vote cannot remain as it is, and that is the taxpayer that can no longer be negotiated," says Marco Buschmann, CEO of FDP, the "image". And the leader of the leftist party, Dietmar Bartsch, said: "We support all efforts of the President of the Bundestag for a change of vote."
