CASPIAN OIL CONSTITUTES ONE FIFTH PART OF WORLD RESERVES
At the Eurasian economic summit in Almaati, Chairman of the Italian corporation “ENI” Juan Maria Gross-Pietro stated that oil reserves of the Caspian region makes up 7,8 bln tons, AzerTAj correspondent reports. On appraisal of other resources, reserves reach 13-22 and even 50 bln tons of oil. According to the official estimates of Kazakhstan, reserves constitutes 27,5 bln tons. If prognosis will be justified, then in near future, the Caspian oil may constitute one-fifth part of world reserves of oil and balance the oil reserves of Iraq and Kuwait, Mr. Gross Pietro stated
Majority of experts in the field of oil production agrees that no less than 10% of the Near Eastern reserves concentrated on the Caspian Sea. In fact, rest part of world owns with only 53% of near eastern oil reserves. But, in accordance with the energy prognosis, in 2050, over 80% of world oil and natural gas will be produced in the Persian Gulf and the Caspian Sea. Together, regions of the Persian Gulf and the Caspian Sea own with approximately 800 bln barrels of oil. For comparison, oil reserves of the Northern and Southern America and Europe makes up less than 160 bln barrels.
