“CAUCASIAN GEOPOLITICS” DEDICATED
In spite of the fact that the author referring, excepting T. Svyatichovsky, Z. Bzezhinski’s works and of some other authors about Caucasus, basically, on the Armenian historians in this connection judgments about the invented “genocide of Armenians”, the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorny Karabakh conflict have negative character, in the book also comprises interesting moments from the history of Azerbaijan.
Narrating about the history of moving of the Armenians to the Caucasus, F. Tual shows that having moved in the antique period from Balkan Peninsula, they have lodged in the East Anatolia. One only this fact crosses out fabrications that Armenians are the native population of the Caucasus.
Emphasizing, that recently Armenia has faced the heaviest problems, the author marks, that for last 15 years more than one million Armenians, having abandoned the country, went to Russia, Ukraine and the Western Europe, that the economy stays in the paralyzed condition, the population is below the breadline.
Comparing Armenia which is in the condition of demographic depression, with Israel, the author emphasizes that while after declaration in 1948 of Israel as an independent state, the Jews living in various countries of the world, have moved to this country, more than 2 million of the Armenians living in foreign countries, do not think at all of returning to Armenia.
Telling about Azerbaijan, the French author marks that the Armenian armed formations occupied 20 percent of our lands, that hundred thousand people by force of the weapon have been expelled from the native lands in Armenia and from occupied territories of our country, emphasizing, that despite of it, Azerbaijan is the most powerful from the economic point of view state in the region of South Caucasus.
Concerning the Nagorny Karabakh problem, the French scientists writes, that from the ancient times in this territory the Albanians lived, that in later centuries a part of them has adopted the Armenian Gregorian belief, that settlement in Nagorny Karabakh of the Armenians moved in the beginning of XIX century from Iran and Turkey, has influenced demographic position, therefore, they began to make the majority in this region. As against other authors, writing about Nagorny Karabakh, F. Tual reminds, that the word "Karabakh” is of the Turkic and Persian origin. It is simultaneously repeatedly marked, that Nagorny Karabakh is occupied by Armenia.
