CIS Council of Foreign Ministers meets in Moscow

Moscow, April 4 (AZERTAC). A regular meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of CIS countries has today been held in Moscow.

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov is also attending the meeting.

The meeting was presided by the Foreign Minister of Belarus Vladimir Makey.

The FMs considered a wide range of questions of interaction of CIS countries in the field of international policy. They discussed the course of implementation of the multilevel consultation plan within the Commonwealth of Independent States for 2013.

The Council approved a number of draft documents in the humanitarian area which will later be submitted for consideration of the CIS supreme bodies. The documents provide for the announcement of 2016 as the Year of Education in the Commonwealth, support and development of national sports.

The next meeting of CIS Council of Foreign Ministers will take place in October, 2014, in Minsk.
