CONSTRUCTION OF “BAHAR”- “OIL ROCKS” GAS PIPELINE APPROACHING THE END

According to chairman Main Department of Fuel-Energy Operations of the Ministry of Fuel and Energy Idris Rzabekov, 80 percent of construction works of the underwater gas pipeline “Bahar”- “Oil Rocks” have been completed; 56 km of pipeline out of those 68 has been laid. In case of favorable weather conditions the construction of pipeline will be completed by early October.

The new gas pipeline is designed not to increase the gas volume transported from “Guneshli” field but to decrease the pressure on 20-inch pipeline operating in parallel. Despite this fact, the new line will allow to increase significantly the volume of gas transportation by 250 thousand cubic meters daily.

If necessary, there is a possibility to lay another high-pressure gas pipeline.
