CONSTRUCTION OF UNDERWATER PIPELINE LAUNCHED
Construction of the underwater pipeline was launched in the frameworks of “Central Azeri” project. McDermott Caspian Contractors Company implements the construction of the pipe. As AzerTAj correspondent was informed in the public relations department of the Azerbaijan International Operating Company (AIOC), in addition to 30 inches oil and 28 inches gas pipelines, a number of oil, gas, layer water and irrigative underwater pipelines of various size will be constructed with the help of modernized pipe-lay ship “Israfil Huseynov” from “Central Azeri” platform to the Sangachal terminal. The total length of this pipeline is 600 km. Surface parts of the underwater pipelines will be constructed in summer this year, while main lines to “Central Azeri” are to be completed until spring, next year. First oil extraction from “Central Azeri” field is planned to the first quarter of 2005.
