CRUDE OIL GOES UP

Crude oil rose in New York on speculation the dollar will go down against the euro.

Crude oil for February delivery rose up to $33.03 a barrel. Crude oil for February delivery rose as much as 24 cents.

The OPEC adjusts output to keep an index of oil prices between $22 and $28 a barrel. The index was last at $29.53 and has been above $28 for 18 straight days.

U.S. supplies of crude oil probably fell by 544,000 barrels from 274.5 million barrels, according to a Bloomberg survey of nine analysts.
