Chinese ambassador completes his diplomatic tenure in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov has met with Chinese Ambassador Wei Jinghua who is completing his diplomatic mission in Azerbaijan.

The sides exchanged views on current bilateral relations, including cooperation in political, economic, trade, tourism and other fields, underlining the great potential for further development of bilateral ties.

Ambassador Wei Jinghua noted that he spared no efforts to strengthen bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and China during his tenure. The ambassador emphasized that the recent high level mutual contacts between the two countries, including Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s working visit to the People's Republic of China and his meeting with Chairman of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping, as well as Chinese Minister of Foreign Affairs Wang Yi’s first official visit to Azerbaijan contributed to further expansion of bilateral relations.

Ambassador Jinghua reiterated his country’s position on supporting the sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence of Azerbaijan.

Minister Elmar Mammadyarov thanked Ambassador Wei Jinghua for his contribution to the development of relations between the two countries. He hailed the successful development of bilateral ties, describing the recent exchange of reciprocal visits as an important impetus to further deepening of these relations. FM Mammadyarov emphasized that Azerbaijan welcomes the principled position of China based on norms and principles of international law, especially on respecting the sovereignty, territorial integrity and inviolability of internationally recognized borders of states.

Minister Elmar Mammadyarov wished Ambassador Wei Jinghua success in his future endeavors.
