An event has been held to mark the 10th anniversary of the Council of State Support for Non-governmental Organizations (NGOs) under the President of Azerbaijan.
Addressing the event, chairman of the Council, MP Azay Guliyev described the organization as a bridge between the state and NGOs. He highlighted what has been done by the Council to increase the world community`s awareness of the Azerbaijani realities, Armenia’s military aggression against Azerbaijan, and the country`s refugee and IDP problem.
The event then featured a video presentation highlighting the activity of the Council of State Support for NGOs.
Addressing the event, the Azerbaijani President’s Assistant for Public and Political Affairs Ali Hasanov hailed the work done by the Council of State Support for NGOs over the past 10 years.
Deputy Speaker of Milli Majlis Bahar Muradova described the achievements of the Council of State Support for NGOs as the indicative of the development of the Azerbaijani government.
UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP (United Nations Development Programme) Resident Representative in Azerbaijan Ghulam Isaczai underlined the effective activity of the civil society institutions in Azerbaijan, hailing the United Nations` successful cooperation with Azerbaijan in this regard.
