DEPUTY OF GEORGIAN PARLIAMENT ARRESTED
Deputy of Georgian Parliament of the ruling party “National movement-democrats” Georgy Kenchadze was arrested for taking bribe in sum 100 thousand dollars from Batumi businessperson, AzerTAj correspondent reports from Tbilisi. He was taken under custody in the Ministry of State Security.
“Everybody, in particular, members of our team have to know that nobody is let to do that. Our position regarding these persons is decisive and grimly. Now, there is another government and another President in Georgia”, President of Georgia Mikhail Saakashvili said.
Vice- speaker of the Parliament Mikhail Machavariani said to the journalists that Parliamentary group of the ruling party will give consent for abolition of deputy’s immunity. According to him, Prosecutor General has already addressed the supreme legislative body of the country.
