DESTROYED ESTABLISHMENTS RESTORED

A number of important units destroyed as a result of the Armenia aggression have been restored in Agdam and Adjabadi regions of Azerbaijan. Representatives of the Agency for Restoration and Reconstruction of the Territories Released from Occupation who is implementing this work, as well as those of the World Bank and European Union financing the restoration and reconstruction projects, visited the regions on September 27.
At first, the guest attended the opening ceremony of the secondary school of 480-seats in Uchoglan village of Agdam province. Chief of the regional Department of Education Elmira Shukuriva expressed gratitude to the representatives of the Agency and World Bank for the high-level restoration work done and granted equipment, computer and TV set.
Head of the restoration projects for the World Bank Farid Mammadov has congratulated the school’s teaching staff and students on completion of the resroration work.
Addressing the ceremony, Director of the Agency for Restoration and Reconstruction of the Territories Released from Occupation, Ali Mammadov said that the social and political stability established in Azerbaijan under the leadership of its President Heydar Aliyev, constant observance of the democratic principles, and the work carried out in the sphere of building legal and secular state, have resulted in steady growth of international prestige of the country. All these factors have given a powerful impetus to expanding co-operation of international organizations, financial structures and countries-donors with Azerbaijan, their involvement in joint projects.
The speakers have resolutely stated they would give their votes in the upcoming presidential elections to the nominee able to lead the country out of the historical ordeals and ensure happy future of the people.

At the expense of the World Bank and European Union, 43 sub-artesian wells in Agjabadi and 103 in Agdam provinces have been reconstructed of late. Representative of the European commission in Azerbaijan, of the European House on Azerbaijan Janny Bocher said addressing the related ceremony in the village of Giyameddinli of Agjabadi region that water is a source of life, there is no lack of foodstuff where there is water. She stated she was happy to be involved in creation of such living conditions for the people of Agjabadi.
