DEVELOPMENT OF ANIMAL HUSBANDRY IN CENTRAL ASIA AND CAUCASUS DISCUSSED

A regional conference dedicated to the development of animal husbandry issues was held in Tashkent. The workshop was initiated by the Center for Agricultural Studies in the Dry Lands. Specialists in the field of animal husbandry, representing Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Georgia and Armenia attended the conference.

Azerbaijan was represented by Chingiz Farajov, head of the relevant chief department of the Agriculture Ministry.

Discussed were the issues of state of animal husbandry, efficient use of the pastures, worsening of composition of the animals, reduction of productivity, and ways out of it.
