DOPING SCANDALS INEVITABLE

Head of the anti-doping commission of the Olympic Committee of Russia /OCR/ Nikolay Durmanov considers that it would impossible to avoid doping scandals.

“The forthcoming summer Olympiad in Greece will be the great surprise for many athletes. The point is that ultra-sensitive and newest equipment discovering doping will be used in the Games in Athens. There is no such equipment in any country. Therefore, the doping scandal will not be avoided anyway. I hope that Russia will get through”, - Durmanov said.

According to him, if the national anti-doping labs do not discover prohibited substances they will face great problems, as Greek labs will detect them.

President of the All-Russian Track and Field Athletics Federation Valentine Balakhnichev stated that OCR had purchased the new equipment due to which all the athletes of the Olympic national team will get through the doping probes.
