“The combat capability of the Azerbaijani Army is one of the key factors in ensuring the territorial integrity of the country,” said Minister of Defense Colonel General Zakir Hasanov at an official meeting held at the Central Command Post.

Participants in the event included deputy defense ministers, commanders of the branches of troops, chiefs of the main departments, departments and services of the ministry, as well as commanders of the Army Corps. The commanders of formations stationed in the frontline zone and other responsible officers were also connected via video conferencing.

Recalling the congratulations of the Azerbaijani President, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev, addressed to the people on the occasion of the Day of Solidarity of World Azerbaijanis and the New Year, Minister Hasanov emphasized the assessment given to the army in a holiday address and drew the participants’ attention to the specific tasks assigned to the military personnel.

Analyzing the current situation on the line of contact of the troops, the Minister of Defense highlighted the achievements, as well as the work to be carried out in 2019.

Colonel General Hasanov emphasized that, as stated by the head of state, the strong military potential of the country and the combat capability of the Azerbaijani Army are among the key factors in ensuring the territorial integrity. Minister Hasanov stressed that the military personnel should not be content with the achievements. "Constantly improving the activities of the troops at the tactical, operational and strategic levels, as well as maintaining superiority over the enemy, we must be ready for combat operations at any time," Minister of Defense Hasanov said.
