Defense Ministry: Azerbaijan to increase peacekeeping contingent in Afghanistan next year

Baku, December 5, AZERTAC

“Azerbaijan is planning to increase the number of its peacekeeping personnel in Afghanistan next year,” Azerbaijan`s Defense Ministry said.

“Commander-in-Chief, President Ilham Aliyev announced in his speech at the latest NATO Summit in Brussels that Azerbaijan will increase its contingent to further contribute to peace, security and stability in Afghanistan. The number of peacekeeping troops is expected to be increased in the first quarter of next year,” the ministry added.
