Baku, February 15, AZERTAC
The Belvedere recently entered the NFT world with the announcement that it would sell 10,000 digital excerpts from Gustav Klimt’s “The Kiss”. After a registration phase, the first sales were processed on Monday. As of 8 a.m., 1,730 NFT unique items had already been sold for 1,850 euros each and thus around 3.2 million euros, the Belvedere reported in a broadcast.
A 100×100 grid was overlaid on the world-renowned painting to create the high-resolution individual parts. The resulting 10,000 segments are randomly assigned to buyers. If all NFT are sold, the project will increase the turnover of the Belvedere by a whole 18.5 million euros.
In any case, Director General Stella Rollig and Commercial Director Wolfgang Bergmann already see “an enormous success for the Belvedere, that the first step into the Metaverse has been taken”, as they announced. After today’s sales start, which was deliberately scheduled for Valentine’s Day, the campaign continues with the remaining NFTs, with the allocation of the individual image sections always taking place on Fridays.
