Doris Leuthard: Switzerland interested in negotiations on import of gas from Azerbaijan

Baku, November 15 (AZERTAC). A meeting took place in the Ministry of the Industry and Energy of the Azerbaijan Republic with delegation of the Federal Department of Environment, Transport, Energy and Communications of Switzerland led by Doris Leuthard. At the meeting discussed was cooperation in the energy sphere.

The minister of the Industry and Energy Natig Aliyev noted that diplomatic, as well as economic relations between Azerbaijan and Switzerland are at high level. Underlining that joint projects are carried out also in energy sphere, the Minister stressed importance of carrying out of similar meetings for the further development of communications. Noting that in energy sphere, as well as in all spheres in Azerbaijan, successful policy is carried out, the Minister highlighted on the successes reached for last period.

The Minister of Energy, Environment, Communication and Transport Doris Leuthard congratulated participants of the meeting on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of restoration of the state independence of Azerbaijan. Having noted quick development of communications between Azerbaijan and Switzerland, the Minister expressed hope for the further deepening of these communications. Doris Leuthard underlined that today Azerbaijan is the second most reliable partner of Switzerland in import of crude oil, and told that they are interested in negotiations on import of gas from Azerbaijan.
