ECB to launch new 50 euro banknote

Baku, July 8, AZERTAC

The European Central Bank (ECB) announced on Tuesday that the new 50 euro banknote will be released on April 4, 2017, while assuring that Europe will not become a "cashless" society, according to vidalatinasd.

Luxembourgian member of the ECB's Executive Board, Yves Mersch, said, during the presentation of the new, orange colored 50 euro banknote at the ECB's Frankfurt headquarters, that the decision to not introduce a new 500 euro bill in the Euro 2 series has nothing to do with a future "cashless" economy.
