ELECTRIC POWER SUPPLY LIMITED IN TAJIKISTAN

Tajik power energy workers got down to winter mode: most provinces are supplied with power for 7 hours a day - three in the morning and four in the evening. Chairman of the State Joint-Stock Holding company “Barki Tochik” Jurabek Nurmakhmadov said from January till spring, the period would be reduced to 4 hours . According to him, limited power supply in autumn-winter period is a forced action caused by water shortage in the Nurek Hydroelectric Power Station reservoir, which is the main energy system of Tajikistan. The Chairman noted that present situation would not be changed until construction of Rogun HPS at the Nurek riverhead.
