EU PLANS TO ALLOCATE €259 MILLION TO CYPRUS TURKS

The European Union is going to grant €259 mln to Cyprus Turks with the aim to eliminate differences in living standards between the southern and northern parts of Cyprus, Turkish media reported. The Turks will get 6 mln euros in 2004, 114 mln - in 2005 and 139 mln - in 2006. These funds will be spent on communication system and improvement of the social security of the Cyprus population.
