FIRST SITTING OF CONFERENCE “AZERBAIJANI STATEHOOD: SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT”
The conference “Azerbaijani Statehood: Sustainable Development” is a new institute, founded at the joint initiative of the NAS’s Human Rights Institute and Ataturk center in Azerbaijan. Its purpose is to promote studying and application of scientific ideas in the globalization period, rapid reaction to ongoing political-economic, scientific, spiritual, ecological changes in the world, discovering talented scholars, studying problems of Azerbaijani science, Azerbaijan’s integration into the world, creating a new intellectual milieu for research works.
Opening the session, NAS president, academician Mahmud Karimov wished every success to the center.
Co-chairman of the conference, director of the Human Rights Institute, doctor of political sciences Rovshan Mustafayev specified the purpose of the organization, objectives set by the reviving world to intellectual forces and stressed the significance of the new thought system in strengthening and sustainable development of Azerbaijani statehood. He noted that technocratic society, built upon the formula “personality plus high professionalism” and relying on the progressive corporate interests was the dictate of new time. Conference will become a guide of new thought, scientific researches in Azerbaijan.
The other co-chairman of the conference, NAS corresponding member, Milli Majlis deputy, head of the Ataturk Center in Azerbaijan, doctor of philological sciences Nizami Jafarov reported on reforms being implemented in science, in the field of theoretical points of view.
Doctor of economic sciences Natig Gasimov delivered a report on “Next stage of Reforms in the Tax Services”, doctor of technical sciences Eldar Shahbazov - on “Heydar Aliyev - Founder of Oil Strategy of Azerbaijan and Ilham Aliyev his reliable successor”, Milli Majlis deputy, professor of the Ukraine International Academy Vagif Abdullayev - “Ilham Aliyev - guarantor of sustainable development of Azerbaijan”, candidate of law sciences Rahid Ulusel - “Azerbaijan in the context of globalization processes”.
