FOREIGN MINISTER OF AZERBAIJAN MET WITH BRITISH DELEGATION

On September 3, Minister of Foreign Afffairs of Azerbaijan Villayat Guliyev met with a delegation of the British Parliament led by member of the House of Lords, vice-president of the World Jews Congress lord Janer.

According to the Ministry’s press-service, Villayet Guliyev highly appreciated the delegation’s visit to Azerbaijan, noted that the links between Azerbaijan and Great Britain are developing and these relations will be deepening in the future.

Then, Minister updated the guests on democratic reforms, being carried out in Azerbaijan, pre-electoral work on the eve first Presidential elections to be held in Azerbaijan after joining the Council of Europe.

Having expressed gratitude for the warm welcome, lord Janer highly appraised the relations between the two countries and stressed that he attached great importance to further expansion of these ties.

Minister Villayat Guliyev gave a detailed information on the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh and efforts for its resolution, activity of OSCE Minsk Group in this direction and stressed the necessity to intensify world community’s efforts to tackle the problem peacefully.

A number of other issues of mutual interest were discussed at the meeting.
