FOREIGN TRADE TURNOVER IN AZERBAIJAN COMES TO $2,7 BILLION

Juridical persons and individuals of Azerbaijan have fulfilled foreign trade transactions with foreign partners from 111 countries for the total sum of $2,7 billion for 7 months of 2003. The share of export comes to $1,4 billion and import - $3 billion out of this amount. The level of foreign trade positive balance in the country makes up $9,1 million. The volume of foreign trade turnover has increased by 44,3 percent as compared to first 7 months of 2002.
Some 48,4 percent of export and import transactions have been fulfilled with the European Union countries, 21,6 - with CIS countries, 30 - with others. Mineral resources, machinery, electric and technical equipment have made up the main part of foreign trade turnover - 88,7 percent of import and 40,1 percent of export.
