FORMER VICE-PRESIDENT OF INTERNATIONAL OLYMPIC COMMITTEE ARRESTED

Former Vice-President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Kim Un Yen was arrested in Seoul, capital of the South Korea. He is accused in bribery and finance machination. He will be kept under custody, the prosecutor stated.

Arrest of Kim Un Yen is connected with his activity at the posts of president of the South Korea’s National Olympic Committee and president of the World Taekwando Federation. He also “promoted” in gaining the right by the US Salt Lake City to host the 2002 Winter Olympic Games.

Leadership of the IOC has voted for deprivation of him from all the rights, privileges and positions.

Kim Un Yen has also lost his position as Member of South Korea’s Parliament.
