First Trailer for Derek Cianfrance's 'The Light between Oceans'

"My life. Isabel, my love. Every day we spend together…" Studiocanal UK has debuted the first trailer for Blue Valentine director Derek Cianfrance's latest film, The Light Between Oceans, starring Michael Fassbender and Alicia Vikander.
Set in Australia in the years following WWI, the film is about a couple that rescues a small baby that washes ashore, raising her as their own. It's desribed as a "beautiful yet heart-breaking story of love and sacrifice", based on the book by M.L Stedman. The cast includes Rachel Weisz, Benedict Hardie and Emily Barclay, produced by David Heyman.
On a remote Australian island in the years following World War I, lighthouse keeper Tom Sherbourne (Michael Fassbender) and his wife, Isabel (Alicia Vikander), discover a boat washed ashore carrying a dead man and a two-month old baby. Rescuing the infant, they make the decision to raise her as their own but the consequences of their choice prove to be devastating. The Light between Oceans is both written and directed by American filmmaker Derek Cianfrance, of the films Brother Tied, Blue Valentineand A Place Beyond the Pines previously. It's based on the extraordinary best-selling novel of the same name written by M.L Stedman. Disney/DreamWorks will release Cianfrance's The Light Between Oceans in theaters in the US starting on September 2nd later this year.
