Formula 1 returns to Imola for the third year in a row

Baku, April 22, AZERTAC

Formula 1 returns to Imola for the third year in a row but this time for the first Sprint weekend of the season, according to the official website of Formula 1.

Charles Leclerc will be looking to continue his fine start to the season, fresh off a dominant performance Down Under.

Last year at Imola, Max Verstappen overtook championship rival Lewis Hamilton at the start and would go on to seal the win in wet and cloudy conditions. Hamilton would come home in second after overtaking McLaren’s Lando Norris, who eventually finished in third.

Ferrari lead the championships this time around, however, while AlphaTauri’s Pierre Gasly and Yuki Tsunoda will also be hoping for a good performance this weekend, in what is also the Faenza team’s home race.

The Formula 1 Rolex Grand Prix Made in Italy Emilia-Romagna will take place from April 22 with the main race on April 24.
