French Senator Goulet: Azerbaijan’s patience is running out
Paris, July 8, AZERTAC
“Armenia has overstepped the mark on July 4 with its bloody crimes, murders. The imposition of sanctions on Armenia, as President Ilham Aliyev proposed, is inevitable. We should put this on the agenda without any delay. We only have one choice to call the UN Security Council and take a more serious action. I think that Azerbaijan has been very patient, and its patience is running out,” said French Senator Nathalie Goulet as she commented on Armenia’s fresh aggression in Fuzuli region.
“We can’t accept the fact that civilians are targeted in the conflict. International organizations, including the UN Security Council, have already confirmed Armenia’s occupation of Azerbaijani territories. Everyone knows and repeats this. But I think that more concrete measures are inevitable,” Goulet noted.
The Senator said that the OSCE Minsk Group, which mediates the conflict, has not achieved any results. “This conflict continues for 25 years. The status-quo is unacceptable, it should be changed.”
“All of Azerbaijan’s allies are ready to support the country. We support its territorial integrity. I turn to the family members of the victims of the bloody massacre in Alkhanli village. I want to say that I share their grief. We should not forget Azerbaijani refugees and IDPs. They are also the victims of this conflict,” she added.
