His Excellency Mr Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan

Dear Mr President,

It is my great pleasure to extend to you and the people of Azerbaijan my warmest congratulations on the occasion of the national holiday – the Republic Day.

We, at BP AGT, join the entire nation in honouring 28 May 1918 – the date when the Declaration of Independence of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic (ADR) was signed, proclaiming the first secular democratic state in the Muslim East. The ADR was unique and ahead of its time. While lasted a brief 23 months, its accomplishments laid the ground for the prosperity of the modern Republic of Azerbaijan.

Using an opportunity, I would like to thank the Azerbaijani government under your leadership, for its enormous and efficient efforts in fighting the COVID-19 countrywide spread. The Operational Headquarters under the Cabinet of Ministers and other relevant government authorities have assured the right level of the working arrangements to the Azerbaijan’s leading industry – the oil and gas sector. This secured continuity of the country’s major energy projects development and allowed BP and its critical contractors to mobilize required internal resources and resume their operations in the region in compliance with the special quarantine regime regulations.

BP attaches great importance to the sustainable expansion of cooperation between Azerbaijan and BP and looks forward to its further fruitful development.

Your Excellency let me wish you good health, happiness and success and further growth and prosperity to the people of Azerbaijan.
