Excellency,

I am pleased to convey to you, on behalf of the Government and People of the Republic of Mauritius, my heartfelt congratulations on the occasion of the Republic Day of your country.

Mauritius and Azerbaijan share good bilateral relations based on mutual respect and friendship. It is my sincere hope that these strong ties be further strengthened.

I take this opportunity to commend the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan for its excellent initiative, as Chair of the Non-Aligned Movement, to host a virtual summit dedicated to the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic last year.

I am confident that such initiatives will contribute to assist the severely affected countries, more particularly, Africa and Small Island Developing States, to gain access to vaccines, medical supplies and equipment in these trying times.
