GOODS TURNOVER BETWEEN AZERBAIJAN AND RUSSIA TO REACH $2 BLN
The goods turnover between Azerbaijan and Russia will reach $2 billion within the next few years, Abbas Abbasov, first Vice-Premier of Azerbaijan Government, chairman of the Azerbaijan-Russia intergovernmental commission for economic cooperation from Azerbaijani side, said at the final meeting of the second Azerbaijan-Russia economic forum. According to him, this figure was fixed by President of Azerbaijan and President of Russia Vladimir Putin in a 22 February Azerbaijan-Russia negotiations.
A. Abbasov said that the main feature of the event was participation of heads of Daghestan, Kalmykia, Kabardino-Balkaria, Stavropol krai, Sverdlov oblast and other Russian regions. It will help establish direct contacts between RF and Azerbaijan regions.
Deputy director general of the “GAO All-Russian exhibition center” joint-stock company Nikolai Bugayev reported that Azerbaijani pavilion, which used to operate in the former VDNKh, will be reconstructed to open in 2008. The exhibition of goods, technologies and services of Azerbaijan is slated to take place in the All-Russian Exhibition Center.

Forum participants adopted a final resolution on the results of the event.
