GUUAM MEMBER STATES DISCUSSED EXPANSION OF COOPERATION

Sitting of the GUUAM Foreign Ministers, who attended the 58th UN General Assembly session was held in UN New York Headquarters, on September 26. Opportunities of expansion of the cooperation between GUUAM states were touched upon.

Ministers also discussed strengthening of GUUAM cooperation in frame of UN, granting status of observer to GUUAM in UN General Assembly.

On the same day, GUUAM Foreign Ministers met with the UN Assistant Secretary of State Mrs. Elizabeth Johns, AzerTAj correspondent learnt from press-service of Azerbaijan Foreign Ministry. The sides discussed development of cooperation between GUUAM and UN, implementation of the joint projects financing by US. The joint resolution was adopted as a result of meeting.

In the course of the meetings, Azerbaijan Foreign Minister Vilayat Guliyev expressed Azerbaijan’s position on above-mentioned issues.
