Germany gets $35 million from FIFA
Baku, July 15 (AZERTAC). 2014 World Cup champions, the Mannschafts of Germany have been rewarded with the sum of $35 million as cash prize for beating Argentina at the Maracana stadium on July 13, while runners up Argentina go with $25 million.
The four time World Cup winners are going home with the amount $5 million more than the fura la rojas of Spain did when they won four years ago in South Africa.
Germany and Argentina are not the only team who will be going home with a cash reward as the other 30 teams who took part in the tournament are to be paid $8 million each.
The money is part of the $576 million generated from the tournament, it covers insurance policies for injured players which will be paid to their clubs.
The 2014 teams are also to get an additional $1.5 million for the costs incurred in the preparation to the World Cup.
The German Football Federation has promised its players $408,000 bonus for winning the Cup.
