HISTORICAL MONUMENTS UNDER RESTORATION
Restoration of the monument “House of Mirahmad khan” dating from the XIX century has commenced in Lankaran region of Azerbaijan. This year, Main Administration for Protection, Restoration and Usage of Historical and Cultural Monuments said AzerTAj reporter, 1 billion 200 million manat are envisaged to spend for restoration of historical monuments. According to it, the restoration of such monuments as “Khanegah” on the river Alinja in Julfa, Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic built in XII-XIV centuries, “Pirhuseyn Khanegahi” on Pirsaatchay in Hajikabul region dating from XI-XIII centuries, “Mausoleum of Nizami”, “Chokak hamam” in Ganja dating back to XVIII century, “Tejridkhaa binasi” and “Walls of Shaki fortress” of XIX century in city of Shaki, “Tower” in Ilisu village of Gakh region and “Tomb of Abutarab” in Mardakan settlement will be finished by the end of this year.
There are 6308 historical monuments in Azerbaijan under protection of the government. Some of them are under the threat of destruction, and many need restoration that worth approximately 7 billion manat.
